Is there any reason that the United States should not take over the rest of the world?

I hope my questions cause you discomfort. You don't learn anything by staying where you are comfortable. But ask yourself, if you don't like the question, do you have a good answer? I look forward to your comments and your question suggestions.

We have neither the stomach for conquest, nor the military capacity to do so. Iraq has proven as much, so did Somalia before that. In addition, it isn't supported by our ideals.
